Opening the circle for this month’s dispatch.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the balance between building a business in a world that increasingly demands visibility and staying authentic to who I am. Like many people, I feel the pressure to network, maintain a social media presence, create content, and somehow still have enough energy left over to show up fully for my family and myself.

As someone who requires a fair amount of quiet and solitude to feel grounded, I also find myself navigating the ever-present risk of burnout. It's a modern dilemma, and certainly not one that belongs exclusively to entrepreneurs. Many of us are trying to balance connection with rest, ambition with well-being, and productivity with the simple need to be human.

I've spent a lot of time contemplating strategies, systems, and schedules. I've built breaks into my calendar and experimented with different approaches to work-life balance. Yet the answer I keep returning to is surprisingly simple. It is the same wisdom that underpins many old spiritual traditions and the same foundation upon which I built Blood Moon Radio: authenticity, self-care, and caring for the nervous system that carries us through our days.

When we ignore those things, we may gain momentum for a time, but eventually something begins to fray. When we honour them, however imperfectly, we create something more sustainable—whether that's a business, a creative practice, a relationship, or a life.

As we move further into the year, I hope you're finding moments to reconnect with whatever helps you feel most like yourself. The world will always ask for more. The challenge, and perhaps the wisdom, lies in knowing when enough is enough.

What we’ve been brewing in the cauldron…

The season may be winding down, but things behind the scenes haven't slowed down. In addition to wrapping up content for Season One, I've been spending time building relationships, making new connections, and planning for what comes next.

The upcoming conversations and collaborations have me genuinely excited, and while I can't share all the details just yet, I think Season Two is shaping up to be something special.

During the off-season, you'll still be able to find me in a variety of places. I'll be guest speaking, teaching, and appearing on other podcasts, continuing conversations around storytelling, spirituality, business, creativity, and personal growth. Moon Magic

What is a blue moon?

The full moon today is a Blue Moon (and a micro moon—but we'll save that discussion for another day). Most people have heard the phrase "once in a blue moon," but fewer know where it comes from.

Despite its name, a Blue Moon isn't actually blue. In modern usage, the term refers to the second full moon that occurs within a single calendar month. Because this only happens every two to three years, Blue Moons are considered relatively rare, giving rise to the expression we still use today.

The existence of Blue Moons is really a quirk of timekeeping. A lunar cycle lasts approximately 29.5 days, while our Gregorian calendar is based on the solar year. Most months contain only one full moon, but when a full moon falls near the beginning of a long month, there is enough time for a second full moon to occur before the month ends.

Symbolically, many practitioners view Blue Moons as amplifiers: a second chance to revisit intentions, complete unfinished work, or bring renewed attention to something that deserves a little more care. Whether you approach the moon from a spiritual, magical, or purely astronomical perspective, there is something special about a celestial event that reminds us that time doesn't always fit neatly into the boxes we've created for it.
