There’s a quieter side of spring that doesn’t get talked about as much. Not the beginning. Not the bloom. But the adjustment. The subtle, honest taking stock. The moment where you look at what already exists in your life — your work, your routines, your relationships, the things you’ve built — and ask:
Does this still fit who I’m becoming?

Spring doesn’t just ask us to start something new. It asks us to tend to what’s already growing. To prune. To refine. To keep what’s alive and gently release what isn’t.

Maybe this season isn’t about reinvention for you. Maybe it’s about recalibration. A return. A willingness to see clearly what’s working… and what could be better.

What we’ve been brewing in the cauldron…

We crossed 1,000 downloads at the beginning of this month.

It’s a quiet milestone in the grand scheme of things, but not a small one to me. Thank you — for listening, for following along, for choosing to spend your time in this space. I don’t take that lightly.

Behind the scenes, this season has been a lot of building while moving. Learning what works, what doesn’t, and where things can be held a little more intentionally.

You may have noticed a shift in how often you’re hearing from me here. That’s part of it.

Instead of trying to fit everything into one monthly email, I’m creating more room — for deeper conversations, for timely updates, for the things that would otherwise get lost. It’s a small structural change, but an important one as Blood Moon grows.

This is what tending the work looks like right now.

Plant Magic

A recipe for savoury shrub.

Making a savoury shrub is a beautiful way to work with what your local landscape is offering, preserving flavour, potency, and a bit of the season itself.

Choose a combination of fresh, food-safe herbs, greens, or edible plants that grow where you are. Wash well. You can choose to leave them whole or to roughly chop.

Fill a jar about halfway with your plant material, then cover with vinegar (apple cider works well). Let it sit for 1–2 weeks, somewhere cool and out of direct light, giving it a gentle shake every few days.

Strain, then add a touch of sweetener if you like — just enough to balance, not overpower. Store in the fridge and use in dressings, marinades, or diluted in water.

As always, forage and work with plants responsibly. When in doubt, leave it out and be mindful with how you harvest.

⛫ Stone Hall Castle (Website)

Not everything that feels European requires a passport. Stone Hall Castle, in Regina, was built after a 1912 cyclone reshaped its owner’s life and the atmosphere hasn’t softened since. Overnight stays and tours are both available.

💍 Topple And Burn (Website)

For when subtlety isn’t the point. Topple and Burn makes pieces that start conversations and occasionally end them. Equal parts adornment and protest.

📸 Rustic Bones Photography (Website)

Somewhere between beauty and unease. Rustic Bones is known for surreal, gothic self-portraiture that turns photography into something more like storytelling. You can collect prints directly through their shop.
